The White Pine Award
The White Pine Award reading program offers high school-aged teens at all grade levels the opportunity to read the best of Canada's recent young adult fiction titles. Each year a Fiction list is offered. Previously, every other year a Non-Fiction list was also nominated.
This program promotes reading for enjoyment among high school-aged students and familiarizes them with great Canadian books, by Canadian Authors.
AWARD GIVEN: Festival of Trees in Toronto in May
Look for the White Pine logo around the Library. The logo is an indicator of White Pine nominated books; it may be found near posters featuring White Pine nominated books and on spines of books.

The White Pine Award is part of the Forest of Reading, a program organized by the Ontario Library Association.
